Here you can find a small selection of web and internet based projects that I've designed and developed. The majority come from my 6 years working as Interactive Desginer at Real World Multimedia, the interactive department at Peter Gabriel's Real World.
The chosen sites reflect the diversity of the work I've created, both visually and technically. The sites range from e-commerce sites with turnover in the millions of pounds, to smaller scale microsites to support the realease of albums by artists at Real World. Technologies used include: X/HTML, CSS, Flash, PHP, Lasso, MySQL, Filemaker & QuickTime.
My main interests are in the area of what is often called 'Web 2.0', utilising advanced CSS and Javascript solutions coupled with backend server-side technologies to move beyond the traditional model of the page-based web.

WOMAD Shop is the offical online store of WOMAD, Peter Gabriel and the Real World family of companies including Real World Records & Real World Studios. The site needed to utilise the existing server and technologies that Real World already had in place. As such it was built from the ground up using Lasso 6, MySQL and Apache. The site was created to replace the agin Filemaker Pro based solution while retaining much of the familier Real World look and feel.
One of the most important requirements was that it must include a much more comprehensive and robust adminstration system allowing the shop staff to maintain the content themselves, view relevant sales data, as well as have access to a much more sophisticated order management system without the need to communicate with the multimedia department.
Some of the significant improvements consisted of allowing items within the order to be fulfilled independently of each other, PDF based reciept generating with integrated address labels, and full stock and product detail editing and addition.
