Here you can find a small selection of web and internet based projects that I've designed and developed. The majority come from my 6 years working as Interactive Desginer at Real World Multimedia, the interactive department at Peter Gabriel's Real World.
The chosen sites reflect the diversity of the work I've created, both visually and technically. The sites range from e-commerce sites with turnover in the millions of pounds, to smaller scale microsites to support the realease of albums by artists at Real World. Technologies used include: X/HTML, CSS, Flash, PHP, Lasso, MySQL, Filemaker & QuickTime.
My main interests are in the area of what is often called 'Web 2.0', utilising advanced CSS and Javascript solutions coupled with backend server-side technologies to move beyond the traditional model of the page-based web.

The Sizer Barker microsite was a departure from the normal way we handled promotional band sites at Real World. Sizer Barker were the first band to release an album on a new label from Real World, Pre Records. The brief was to create something that wasn't related to Real World's normal world music content, and that could be used for both dynamic database driven informational content such as news and tours, but also would provide other more fun assets of interest to fans.
The site encorporates free downloads such as desktop wallpapers and icons, as well as a number of free tracks and videos available to watch online, and a flash based web radio streaming the entire album at lower quality. It was a really fun project which enabled me to make extensive use of 2D, 3D, and video techniques as well as lots of hand-coding of HTML, CSS, Javascript and Lasso.
Software used included: Flash, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, BBEdit, Illustrator, Lasso, MySQL.
