Well once again this story is just getting stranger and stranger. Last night Jaron Brass posted several comments linking to a QuickTime movie on his site. The movie purports to be a clip from his local channel NBC6, detailing the arrest of Jaron’s father due to accusations of Insurance fraud. Now this seems authentic, but I can’t find any more information about the arrest, either on the NBC6 site, or elsewhere. If you have any info about this bizarre development then please let us know!

The original larger file can be found on Jaron’s own server, quite why he’d want to publicise this if it is true is beyond me.

Odd - no sign of this story on NBC 6’s website - www.nbc6.net However the previous health insurance fraud story referred to does seem to be on-line.
The address of the clinic on the doors matches listings for C Brass (and I think Howard must be a middle name - CH Brass pops up a few times) Craig Howard Brass would make sense as his name?
Hallandale (where the reporter says Brass is from) is just North of Aventura, where Jaron’s websites are mainly registered to.
The Tivo (1999) in brackets doesn’t refer to the recording date - it is a date provided by the broadcaster as part of the programme details for the origination date I think. In this case it is probably spurious as it doesn’t look like NBC6 are providing full EPG details to DirecTV. (Not a surprise for a local broadcaster that probably doesn’t have as much EPG savvy as people like Sky and the BBC in the UK)
All I can say is - it looks to be what it is. Of course the dates may have been edited in some editing package, and until it pops up on an on-line source like a newspaper or TV News site there will always be nagging doubts.
However this does seem like a very sad co-incidence.

I am supposed to feel sorry because his father has been milking my insurance company for millions of dollars???? Sorry don’t think so. Guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree (even if the apple is adopted)

Why would you post this video, Jaron?
Do you actually like the attention, even the negative attention?
I’d suggest bringing that up in therapy this week.

NBC6 have confirmed the authenticity of Jaron’s off-air recording of their newscast. The story was, indeed, their lead yesterday at 6.
Why Jaron would wish to post this I don’t know - but I guess this is one crisis that is for real for him and his family.

Call him what you’d like. But Jaron clearly likes the attention he’s getting, albeit negative.
His bio clearly states he hated being ignored in school. I am sure his worst fear of all is that we all just never spoke to him or devoted so much attention to him!
Of course the funny thing is that he’s been lying for so long, he’s clearly delusional. Read his “apology” for a good dose, if you haven’t already.

I agree with Alex. At this point I just feel sorry for Jaron, yet I don’t pity him enough to be friends with him because he’s a liar. It’s a catch-22, I think, and he’s shot himself in the foot.
My recommendation to him? Get a real life, not an internet fake life, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. Too much time in front of a screen does no good.

I thought these comments were very appropriate:
From the people I have spoken to, it appears the dead boyfriend story or the business got sold story would appear after communicating with someone (either on iChat, email or the phone) for about a month.
From the number of people I have emailed or chatted with, it appears that he has had at least four friends or ex-boyfriends die since late 2002. In addition Hyperactive has been either sold by Jaron to employees or bought out by larger media companies/huge corporations three times since 2003.
It would make sense when someone spins as many lies as this guy, that he would use some life changing or traumatic experience to allow him to back away from the lies.
My current thinking is that Jaron lies to gain self respect. By fooling people, he ultimately feels empowered because they are foolish enough to believe his extraordinary tales.
Sadly, his immaturity is setting a darker course for his future life. It will be close to impossible to break from these lies with all of this attention he is receiving on this website. Life after all of this will seem incredibly bleak and his need to recreate his persona will be stronger and possibly more risky.
This behavior is all about risk and the thrill from it.
Jaron’s story is far from over…
